My first challenge for Word Art Wednesday

One of my crafting blog buddies, Karen Letchworth, asked me if I would take part in the challenges over at Word Art Wednesday and I was happy to go look.

They give you the scripture to use for each challenge or you can choose one of your own favourites. I decided to go with the one provided. I'm afraid that I brought my proof reading into play with this one and I made some corrections in the passage. I hope I'm forgiven.

I used a Craft UK card blank and rounded off the corners. I used the image of a castle and sky backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD. They were both matted on to gold card which was from a Secret Santa pack from a friend. I printed the scripture in dark blue and red in Old English Text and then cut it out, rounded the corners and backed it with gold card. I cut a shiney gold star to go in the top right to complete the design.

Happy New Year

with love

Merry Christmas

I'm so busy at the minute I don't think I'll be making any more cards until the New Year. Our number one son and daughter in law are coming to stay tomorrow and they'll be here until next Wednesday. Our number two son and DIL will be down here on Christmas Day so it'll be lovely for us all to be together. We'll have some laughs. Thank you all for your lovely comments. Since I started my blog in February I've enjoyed  'talking' to you all. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I wish you all the very best for the year ahead. Have a happy holiday.

#93 Please Drink Responsibly

This is the last challenge before Christmas over at One Stitch at a Time Challenge Blog and the theme of this challenge is everyone's favourite 'Anything Goes'. I chose Stitchy's digi called Please Drink Responsibly. I used a large scalloped card blank from Craft UK but I have no idea where I got the striped purple card from. :(

Our sponsor this week is Stitchybear herself, brilliant!

I coloured the digi with Promarkers, edged it with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and cut it with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I used a lilac flowered paper in a scalloped oval the next size up and then backed that with a purple grand nestie oval in the next size up again. The purple card is from Papermill. The matted layers made a beautiful frame for this fun image. I used a Sakura stardust pen for the glasses and the button on her trousers. I added some purple pearls, from WOC, for earrings and necklace - then I put it through the Grand Calibur again, which flattened the pearls and I think they look pretty cool! I added a piece of lilac lace which I bought at the local market and a band of the striped card, to go across the lace. Purple flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are cut with Crealies dies.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Sparkle, shines, glitters, etc.
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge -  Sparkle and Shine
Cards and More - Monochrome

Cats and Dogs Bingo

I'm entering this card into two challenges: Ladybug Crafts Ink - #50 Bingo and Moving Along with the Times - Cats and Dogs.

My Bingo line is felt, spots and buttons - just in case you didn't spot them! lol

My large square card blank is by Craft UK and the blue card is by Ross. I have no idea where I got the spotted paper, sorry. The Magnum image is by Ladybug Crafts Ink and I've coloured him with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders nestie. I used the same shape nesties to cut two pieces of felt, one in brown and one in blue and have had that for so long I can't remember where I got it. The buttons are from Create and Craft.

It's been a horrible today here, weatherwise, but I've spent the day playing so it can't all be bad. Number two son and DIL popped in and brought us two packs of cupcakes as a treat so I'm going to have one cake soon with a nice cup of coffee. Happy days.

I'm Dreaming of a Green Christmas

The challenge over at Paperake Weekly challenge blog is I'm dreaming of a ............ (favourite colour) Christmas, and I think most of you know what my favourite colour is by now! I used a large square card blank by Craft UK and the green Mirri board came via Joanna Sheen. The green leaf backing paper is by Oase of Panda Bear Designs at Stitchybear Digital Stamps. The tree image is by Ladybug Crafts Ink and I coloured it with my Promarkers and glittered it with Diamond Dust. Three green pieces of Card Candi at the top and two Spellbinders Parisian Accent corners complete the design.

I've added two photos to make sure that you can see that glitter!! lol

I'm also entering the card in to the following challenges:
Paper Sundaes - Anything Christmas
Charisma Cardz - Last Minute Christmas Makes

Green and Purple

Green and Purple is the theme of the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog. I used a small 6x6 card blank by Craft UK. The purple Mirri card is from Joanna Sheen and the lilac card is from Papermill. I also used a strip of green Papermill card and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder. The Crafty Sentiment's image of Pat in Summer was coloured with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders oval nestie before edging with Distress Ink in Dusty Concord. I backed the image with a purple Mirri card scalloped nestie. The strip of green card was butted against a strip of purple ribbon, bought in Australia last year. I finished off the design with three green Card Candi pieces.

I feel much better today, though the vertigo continues to knock me sideways. lol  Stay happy.

No crafting today

I've been to the dentist today so I'm not too good. I had to warn her about my vertigo so that she took the chair down slowly. I've had a deep scale and polish. Now that I'm getting long in the tooth I have to look after my teeth. I've had them a long time and don't want to lose them now. She warned me that they would be sensitive later today and she was right. I've taken some painkillers and will take more before I go to bed. My vertigo seems to be back with a vengeance so I haven't done much today. I have done some washing, very carefully, so that I didn't make any sudden movements with my head. I'm hoping I'll be feeling much better tomorrow. I've got some challenges to take part in.

Pink, White and Silver

Yes, Pink, White and Silver is the theme for the very last challenge of Lili of the Valley. I've missed a few weeks because of Christmas preparations but decided I had to take part in the very last one. (There will be another challenge running but it won't belong to LOTV though it will have the same blog address.)

I used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK and the backing paper is by Oase, over at Stitchybear Digital Store. The silver card is in a pack I've had for absolute years and I thought I would never use it. I coloured the image, which I got in the magazine freebie pack, with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders rectangle nestie, backing it with the scalloped nestie in silver. A Sakura stardust pen on the cake stand gave the impression of it being silver. I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink to edge the image and the sentiment, which was generated on the computer. The silver backing to the sentiment and the border are both from the Spellbinders Parisian Accents set.

Double Challenge

I've made a card today, hurray! I've just taken two painkillers for a headache but my dizziness seems to be passing and it's not quite as bad as it was - that might be wishful thinking! :(

Anyway, the card I've made is to cover two challenges:
Moving Along With the Times 127 - Last minute Christmas
Lollipop Crafts - Dark Red, Chocolate and Cream

I made the A5 card base with Papermill dark red card and the backing paper, from Costco, is matted on to dark brown card, also from Papermill.  I coloured the image, from Stitchybear Digital Stamps, with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders nestie, backing it with the larger size nestie in the dark brown card. I also used Distress Ink in Aged Mahogany on the edges. I added three dark red pieces of Card Candi to the bottom left.

Angelina #92

The theme is Use a Digi so head over to One Stitch at a Time Challenge Blog to join us and have fun with this one. I chose the digi, Angelina, designed by Sue of Beary Dust at Stitchybear Digital Stamps.

The card blank is a large scalloped square by Craft UK. I coloured Angelina with Promarkers and then cut the image out using the Spellbinders Grand Nesties label die. I used Distress Ink in Spun Sugar to colour the edges of the label. She has a gold gem to fasten her top! I used a Sakura Stardust pen to outline her and give her a sheen so I hope you can see it on the photo. I cut another label, the next size up, in a pale yellow flowered paper and then matted and layered with pink starry paper and yellow and pink card. I cut two small scalloped circles with a Spellbinders die and used them as a base for a pink grosgrain bow with a pink pearl brad at the centre. The brad is from WOC and the pink ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.

Our sponsor this week is
