OSAAT #194 - Anything Goes

The theme this week is Anything Goes so come along and join us at One Stitch at a Time. This image that I chose is by Coosty Creations over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet and it's called 'Doorway'. I can just imagine eating in this cosy little establishment, yum. There are gorgeous backing papers to match this image but I chose not to use them on this card as I already had the background in mind.

This challenge will last longer than usual so you have plenty of time to make your card over the festive period and join in with us.

My card is a large 8x8 square by Joanne Sheen. The backing paper is by Costco and it's matted on to Papermill greeny-yellow card and then on to black glitter card. I know that I got the glitter paper at Blue Water Craft Fair last year but can't remember the shop, sorry. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and then matted on to the greeny-yellow card. There is ivy down the right hand side of the digi image so I echoed that with my die cuts of ivy, cut with my Joanna Sheen Signature dies. I used various shades of green. I added a small strip of black glitter card down the left side and then added another ivy die cut.

The prize this week will be all the images used by the DT in challenge 192 but please check the challenge blog for full details of prizes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes/Winter Wonderland
Digistamps4Joy - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
The Stamping Chef - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Food and/or Drink
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Polka Doodles - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you all for your best wishes. I'm feeling better, though I still have some way to go before I feel really fit - I've never had a cold that has been so bad!

MAWTT - Winter Wonderland

This week's theme over at Moving Along with the Times is Winter Wonderland and it was set by Hazel (didos). So come along and join us with snowy and icy scenes.
This is my card for the Winter Wonderland challenge set for Team B. I've used a small card blank from Craft UK. The silver glitter paper is from Papermania and I've matted on to that some paper that I won from a competition at Crafts Beautiful a few years ago. I don't even know if the Crafts Beautiful magazine is still around.  I used my Hobbycraft punch to cut a large snowflake. The tree is from a Memory Box die called Winterland Tree. To finish off the card I added some Diamond Dust by Provocraft.

I'm really poorly this week so I'm sorry if I don't get round to visit you.

OSAAT #193 - Seeing Red

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is 'Seeing Red'. I'm using the image 'Busted ' by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I think Santa is seeing red in more ways than one!! This is going to be the Christmas card for my son and DIL as my son breeds dogs and I think they'll appreciate this one.

I've used a large square card by Joanna Sheen. The white paper was embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and that was matted on to Papermill red card. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie circle. I drew round another of the circles so that it was just slightly larger than the previous one and then I cut it by hand. I wanted just a thin touch of red round the image. To make his belt and boots look shiny I used some Ranger's Glossy Accents. 'Happy Christmas' is cut in gold card and I used an All Occasions die by Robert Addams. The gold stars are the waste from a Joanna Sheen Signature die 'Starburst'.

Please check the challenge blog for details of the prizes on offer. One of the prizes will be 3 Promarkers from Creative Craft World.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Animal Friends Challenge - Must have an animal

OSAAT #192 - Use a Digi

This week it was Shell's turn to choose an image and she chose Olyvia by Teri of Delicious Doodles over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. This is my card using Olyvia, isn't she beautiful? The theme for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi so come along and join us.

I used a large scalloped card by Craft UK. The backing paper is from a Dovecraft 12x12 paper pack. I cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie and matted it on to burgundy Papermill card. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie. The backing oval is in burgundy card again but I cut this freehand because I just wanted a very narrow border. The four gems in the corners are called Dazzlers and I bought them from Create and Craft a couple of years ago.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes on offer this week.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

MAWTT Challenge - Girly with NO Pink

Sarah was responsible for choosing the theme for this week at Moving along with the Times and she chose - Girly with NO Pink. Come along and join us because you can have a lot of fun with this theme. Check out the DT cards too - there are some lovely cards there to give you some inspiration if you need it.

Here is my take on this one. I won this digi image earlier this year and it's the first time I've used it. The signature on it is Jen Lee so thank you for a lovely image. I cannot for the life of me remember which challenge it was that I won. Perhaps someone might be able to tell me Jen's website.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The yellow card and orange card is all by Papermill. I've used the Memory Box large Madera Corner die and Joanna Sheen's Signature dies for the Lacy Corners and the Butterfly Spray. I coloured the girl (she's called Mysteri if I remember that correctly) with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I also used a Spellbinders die for the fancy star shape at the bottom left and added a piece of Sunset Strip Card Candi to the centre of it.  The mat was embossed with a Crafter's Companion Embossalicious folder.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Delicious Doodles - No Design Paper
Digitally Sweet - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Come and Get it - Anything Goes with twist of using Digital stamp
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #191 - Bingo

OK, the theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is Bingo and the Bingo card is below. You MUST still use a digi no matter which line of the bingo card that you use.

I used the middle line - Stickles, Dies and 3 or More Layers. I chose Coosty Creations' Camel Digital Pack from Stitchybear Dig Outlet and you get the image plus the backing papers in the pack. You have to agree, surely, that this camel is a real sweetie. I love camels. I know that they spit but that's just in their nature. lol

I used my Promarkers to colour the image and I used Stickles Diamond on his eyes, nose and mouth just to make them look moist. I hope you can see it on the photo. My large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The beige card is by Papermill. The handmade paper is by Indus and I thought it suited the camel image perfectly, along with the Coosty Creations' backing papers. I used some X Cut dies to cut the image and the two backing papers. I raised the image on foam pads and then to give it a little more oomph I added some Cosmic Shimmer Bronze liquid pearls  to the corners. I like this card and I can't always say that about my cards. lol My brothers have both had their birthdays this year so I'm not sure who'll be getting this masterpiece!

The sponsor this week is Creative Craft World with a prize of 3 Promarkers. Please check out the challenge blog for details of the prize structure.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Anonymous Stamps - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Let's Make it Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Digitally Sweet Challenges - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

OSAAT #190 - Anything Goes

Anything Goes is the theme for this week's challenge over at One Stitch at a Time. It was Shell's turn to choose an image and she chose 'An Inviting Hug'. You can buy this digi from the Stitchybear Digi Outlet and it's by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then trimmed it. The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I already had a sheet of 'sky' paper printed but can't remember whether it's off a CD or not, sorry. The clouds are cut with a Memory Box die and edged with 'stormy sky' Distress Ink. The silver card is from a children's activity pack. I used it to mat the sky paper on to and I cut some corners to make a 'frame' for the picture. I'm not happy with the sides of the image, they show up quite a lot on this photo but in real life it looks quite good. I might have to try and rectify that somehow but I'm not sure what I can do. I might have to sprinkle some snow. I generated the sentiment on the computer and matted it on to more silver card.

One prize winner will get all the images that the design team used for challenge 188 but head over to the challenge blog to read all about how you can win them

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
C is for Challenge - Winter is Coming
The Crafty Bloggers Network - Christmas

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Snow and Ice

Moving Along with the Times - Furry Friends

This week the theme is Furry Friends over at Moving Along with the Times. Please come along and join us.

My furry friends are my cats Gracie and Casey but until a few years ago I also had a Maine Coon called Maisie and this stamp looks exactly like her when she was a kitten. I didn't colour the image because it has so much detail in the drawing I didn't want to spoil it. It's a Clarity stamp and I cut it with one of the cheap dies that I bought from Joanna Sheen - there's no name on the packet. I typed Happy Birthday in red and cut that with a Spellbinders die. The backing paper is from Costco and that's matted on to Papermill red card.  The small card blank is by Craft UK and the red organza ribbon is from Joanna Sheen, as are the pearls.

It would have been our 49th wedding anniversary today so I'm thinking of all the happy memories. Thanks for visiting me and keeping my spirits up.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

Artistic Impressions Challenges - Use a Sentiment, Anything Goes
Digi Sketch Challenge - All for the Animals
Creative Card Crew - Pearls
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #189 - Holidays (occasions)

Just to clarify the theme for this week over at One Stitch at a Time - it's Holidays and by that we mean special occasions such as Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Easter amongst others.

This week is a collaboration week by all the creators of the digi images and the DT have no choice of which images to use. We are all allocated an image which we then have to use to come up with a card to showcase that image. This week I've been given two images and so I have two cards for you to check out.  I was given this image of Pumpkincat by Crafty Girl over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. Obviously this image had to be used for a Halloween card. At first I was daunted by it but once I got started, for the second time, it became easier!

The first time I coloured it I had used too much black and I had to have a rethink. I'm pleased I changed it as it works much better. The orange card and the greeny/black glitter card are both by Papermill. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and a Sakura black pen was used on the cat whiskers, eye lashes and bits of the bat wings. I cut round it freehand leaving a small white border. I matted it on to the glitter card which had been cut with a Spellbinders label die. The card blank is a small square by Craft UK. I wrapped two strands of black silk round the bottom section of the orange card and then added a small 'head' with goggle eyes. I'm not sure whether it's the head of a ghost or just a floating head......... .HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of prizes this week.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Card Mania - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Melonheadz Friends Challenge - Costumes/Dress Up/Halloween
Parade Your Crafts - Halloween
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz Challenge 44 - Anything Goes

My second card uses the image 'Christmas Baubles' so obviously this holiday was Christmas. This image is by Stitchy herself.  I'm not making my Christmas cards again this year, second year in a row. I just can't get into it the way I did when Eric was here. We used to discuss what type of card we wanted to send and I always checked out with him before I made a decision. For various challenges I've made about seven cards in total so these will go to certain people who expect and look forward to a hand crafted card.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The red card is from Papermill. The printed vellum is from Create and Craft from years ago - I've still got loads. The image was coloured with my Promarkers - I used the metallic gold and silver on the baubles but I'm not sure that they give the desired effect. The silver starburst is a Signature die by Joanna Sheen. The swirl in the bottom left is from a Tattered Lace die by Stephanie Weightman. The silver glitter round the edge is years old and I've had it for ever.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Card Mania  - Anything Goes
Crafty Bloggers Network - Christmas
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Totally Papercrafts Challenge - Use Glitter
Charisma Cardz Challenge 44 - Anything Goes

These images that I've used and all the images used by my team buddies will be put into one big bundle and anyone buying anything from Stitchybear Digi Outlet will get this bundle free of charge. (Please note: Time span and certain spend will come into effect for this free bundle.) Here's a picture to show you all the images.

OSAAT #188 - Use a Digi

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi. It was Josephine's turn to choose an image for herself, Shell and me to use and she chose Susan's 'Bear Guitar'. You can buy this image, by Sentimental Susan, at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I've used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The turquoise card is by Papermill and the music paper is by Payper Box. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I gently touched the edges with Distress Ink. The musical interlude and treble clef are dies by Memory Box. I used two pieces of Card Candi in the two RH corners. I generated the sentiment on the computer and set it across the top LH corner. I've given the brown bear the name of Busker so I hope Susan doesn't mind! lol

Please check out the OSAAT blog for full details of the prizes, however, I can tell you that someone will win all the digital images used by the DT on challenge 186.

Moving Along with the Times - No Designer Papers

Moving Along with the Times, Team B's turn this week and the theme, set by Sue, is No Designer Papers. This means you can make your own background papers by stamping, spraying, sponging or any other technique you like using. You could just use layers of card or leave it CAS with just the image, it's up to you but come along and join us.

I decided to use my purple Cosmic Shimmer mist first of all and after that I stamped a little flower image randomly across the paper. The stamp is by Anita and I've used it loads, it must be the one stamp that I have used regularly and I've had it for years. I used my Promarkers to colour the flowers in shades of purple and did the centres in yellow. I matted this paper on to Crafters Companion purple card. I used my Spellbinder dies on more of the CC card to make the fancy border, the Happy Birthday sentiment nestie and an ornate base for another flower which I'd cut out to use as an embellishment. I asked one of my sons if it would pass muster and he said that it was OK for an old person! I'm sure he loves me really but he does believe in calling a spade a spade. lol

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
ABC Challenge - What's old is new again.
Created with Love Challenges - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #187 - Boo (or Halloween Colours)

The theme at One Stitch at a Time is Boo! (if you don't make Halloween cards then please use Halloween colours instead). My image this week is Cat Nip by Pookie over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I embossed a sheet of Crafters Companion Core-dinations card with an embossalicious folder of giant dots, the folder is also by Crafters Companion. I sanded the dots to show a slight shade of the orange undercoat. Three lengths of Creative Expressions baker's twine was wound round the black card. I used a sheet of orange paper and stamped it with spider's webs and a sheet of green card and stamped that with bats. The paper and card both from Papermill. The little orange pumpkin was stamped with a Whiff of Joy stamp and coloured before fussy cutting. Cat Nip was coloured with my Promarkers. I cut her with a Spellbinders label die and edged it with Distress Ink, stamping spiders web round the edges. Then disaster struck! I had a black ink smudge close to her head and I couldn't use anything to hide it so I had to cut her out too. I actually like this design better than the first one so it wasn't such a disaster after all. lol I typed the sentiment on the computer, cut it out as a label and tied it in her hand.

The prize this week is from Creative Craft World and is 3 Promarkers. However, please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for full details of the prizes.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #186 Anything Goes

This week's theme over at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes so come across and join us. I chose the image this week for some of my team buddies and I chose Stitchy's 'Birthday Girl' over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The red card is from Papermill and the blue dotted paper was a freebie in a magazine. I coloured the image with my Promarkers using a gold Promarker for her bracelet and earring. After colouring I cut the birthday girl out with a Spellbinders grand nestie oval leaving the balloons flying free!  I trimmed three pieces of red card to make a border along the bottom and one side. The diecut in the top right is another Spellbinder die and at the centre of it is a little 'sun' button by Create and Craft. I used another C&C item, the yellow swirl at the join of the red strips, just to add another piece of yellow to even out the design. Red pearls by Kanban were the final addition. I know who will get this card so I hope she appreciates it.

Please check out the prizes at the OSAAT challenge blog - one lucky winner will get all the images used by the DT on challenge 184.

Moving Along with the Times - Christmas Cuties

I'm on to my second card as part of the Design Team for the Moving Along with the Times challenges. This challenge has the theme of Christmas Cuties so, of course, I had to use House Mouse.

I've used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. I bought the red glitter sticky backed paper from Bluewater Craft Fair last year but I cannot remember which stall it was on, sorry! The House Mouse stamp sheet was bought from the Joanna Sheen website and after colouring with my Promarkers I cut it with a Spellbinders Resplendent rectangle die. Before removing it from the die I smudged with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and then coloured the edge with Barn Door Distress Ink. The poinsettia doily was given to me by a crafting friend, thanks Nataliya. The red 'star' in the bottom left was cut with a Spellbbinders die as was the sentiment. I added a red button, tied with baker's twine, to the centre of the 'star'. The sentiment came from the House Mouse stamp sheet.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - Christmas is Coming
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Deep Ocean Challenge - Christmas is Round the Corner
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #185 - Winter Wonderland

This week's theme over at One Stitch at a Time is Winter Wonderland. I chose the image 'Humphrey Horse' by Barbara Jensen over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers (and added a little Sakura to his mane and tail to make it look as if they were frosty!) and cut round Humphrey leaving a narrow white border. My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from a Papermania pack and the grey card is by Papermill. I used a sheet of silver card, sorry no idea where I got this one from, and cut a strip of icicles - well, that's what they're supposed to be. lol I added some silver snowflakes cut with a Hobbycraft giant punch. Poor Humphrey is sitting in some Floracraft's Diamond Dust. This is to give the impression that he's sitting on the ice, bless him. I generated the sentiment on the computer and added that as a speech bubble.

The prizes can be checked out on the OSAAT challenge blog.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts Challenge: Something Blue
Melonheadz Friends Challenge: Animals
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes

Halloween

Every year we have children knocking on the door at Halloween and every year I make up some sort of goody bags for them.

This year I'd been saving some Pringles tubs - after I'd finished the crisps! I knew they would come in handy for something so I collected about seventeen before I eventually decided that until I thought of what to do with them I shouldn't save any more. I started to think of Halloween and then thought 'oh, my Pringles tubs are going to come into play'. I had already cleaned the foil lined insides with wet wipes so I covered some of them with black leather look paper from Papermill. I used some Hobbycraft black borders to decorate the bottom edge on some of them. I ran out of the black paper before I'd covered all the tubs so decided to use something else and I found the Happy Halloween images on Dafont. I just randomly typed the letter and came up with different images so it worked well. I edged them with some black Promarker scribbles. I'd bought some witch charms last year from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I tied one of these round each tub with some black and white baker's twine from Creative Expressions. I cut a Spellbinders scalloped circle in Papermill orange card and then stamped 'Happy Halloween' in the centre of each. The stamp was from Whiff of Joy. I stuck these on the see through lids so that the children can't see what's in the tubs until they get home.

I've made all seventeen and have loads of sweets and lollies left if any more visitors call. Last year I'd made thirty bags and only gave out about six so this year I've cut back on the work. When the tubs are empty they could 'possibly' be used as pencil holders. In reality they'll probably end up in the bin!

I'm entering my items in to the following challenges:

By Lori Designs Challenge - Black, orange and 1 other
Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Pretties Challenge - Halloween
The Paper Shelter Challenge - Charm Us
City Crafter Challenge - Trick or Treat

Ribbon Carousel Blog - Fall and Halloween
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Crafty Boots Challenge - Sweet Treats

This has filled in quite a bit of time and I've enjoyed making them. I'm also making cards for two design teams so I'm managing to keep reasonably busy. Thank you all for visiting and leaving such lovely comments.

Moving Along with the Times - Anything Goes

Hello Everyone

This is my first card for the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and I used my favourite colour - I think you all know - green!

The stamp I used was a freebie that I got in a magazine a few weeks ago. It's the first time I've used it though I have used most of the other stamps that came with this one. I don't make many 'cute' cards because I don't have anyone in the family that I could send one to but I'm giving this to a young friend to send to someone.

The sponsor this week is Sir Stampalot.  so check it out.

The prize on offer is:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers, cut it with one of a set of very cheap dies that I bought from the Joanna Sheen website and they had no name on them. After it was cut I edged it with a Distress Ink. The green card is from Papermill and the backing paper is from a freebie pad that I got years ago in a magazine! The sentiment is one from Lili of the Valley and is set against a Memory Box diecut. The green ribbon is from a stash I bought in Australia in 2010 and I'm still using certain colours. The 6x6 card blank is by Craft UK.

The beautiful little flower is one from a lovely parcel of flowers I got from a friend in blogland, Nataliya.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes
Just Add Ink - Just Add Bows
Kitty Bee's Designs - Flowers
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Anything Goes Challenge - Out with the Girls - I can dream!

OSAAT #183 - Autumn

We have another week with an Autumn theme but this can also include Halloween, Harvest Festival, Thanksgiving, etc. so as I'd made an autumnal card previously I decided to make a Halloween card.

Come across to One Stitch at a Time to show us what you can do and check out the challenge blog for full details of the prizes.

It was time for me to choose an image from Tami at Gingerloft, over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet so I chose Whispering Trees. They look quite eerie and this persuaded me to make the Halloween card with the little witch flying over the trees on her broomstick.

I made an A6 card with Papermill embossed card and it's the first time I've used this size for years. I used Stormy Sky and Black Soot Distress Inks round the edge of the image and then attached it directly to the card base.I tied a dark blue Joanna Sheen organza ribbon round the spine edge and added three black 'gems' to the bottom right. They were from Create and Craft. The little witch charm I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts Ltd.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Just Inspirational Challenge - Metal Embellishment

MAWTT Design Team

I'm pleased to announce that I am going to be a member of the Moving Along with the Times design team as of today!

I need to keep busy as much as possible and the only way to keep motivated is to be challenged with various themes. Thank you to the MAWTT challenge blog for giving me the opportunity.

I hope that I'll be able to fulfill my obligations to the team. I'm really looking forward to getting started and meeting up with as many of you as I can. My first challenge will be 3rd October so please come along and join me on my new journey.
