Another one for fun

Today after doing my ironing I decided to make a card. I'm so pleased that I'm eventually getting back into my crafting, I enjoy it so much once I get going.

My image is Tropical Masquerade by Delicious Doodles and you can buy it at the Delicious Doodles shop.

I enjoyed colouring the image, though it's not perfect by any means. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen and so is the purple Mirri card. The two backing papers are by Papermania. I used the purple Mirri card to cut two Marianne die swirls. I bought the little masks, I think they might have been from The Works, probably a year ago and this is the first time I've used one. My Promarkers were used for the image as per usual.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles Challenge - For the love of animals
A Creative Romance Challenge - Girly Creations
Crafty Catz Challenge - Anything Goes
Left of Center Challenge - Girly

I want to thank all those followers who come and comment on my cards regularly when I just haven't felt able to reciprocate. I'm hoping that once I get settled into a new home, with my son and daughter in law, and have everything sorted out I'll feel able to slip into a routine.

Thank you all.

Just Because

Today I've made a card just because................ it's raining and I was waiting for some building work to be finished which can't be done now............... just because............ I wanted to use this image and.......... just because I'm in a crafting sort of mood!

I bought this a few weeks ago and haven't had the chance to use it yet, but today was the day. The image is called 'Owl be 'm'Eating You' and you can buy it at the Deliciocus Doodles Shop.

My card blank is a small square by Crafts UK. The dark green card is by Papermill. I coloured the image with my trusty Promarkers and after cutting it into a rectangle I edged it with two shade of Distress Ink. I've had the fringed ribbon for years and can't remember where I bought it, probably Create and Craft. After wrapping it round the left side of the card I attached a googly eye to it, ugh! lol I bought the googly eyes at Hobbycraft. The only other small embellishment was a little green spidery button which is heading towards that skull!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles Challenge - On the Darker Side
Crafty Creations Challenge - Use something beginning with S - spider button
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Craft Room Challenge - Things with Wings
Deep Ocean Challenge - Wings

So much has happened with the blog. We, as most new blogs do, had some growing pains and we continue to learn and grow. The collections in the store have also continued to expand! In the mean time, we want you to party down with us! We've got some special prizes to make this a fun celebration! Keep reading! Below my card and description I'll list the rules and the order to follow the blog hop.

My image is the beautiful Fae 10 and is available in the Fitztown store.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then added little touches of glitter with a Sakura gelly roll pen to give a lift in certain place on the wings and the garland. I gave a slight edge of lemon before fussy cutting the image. I matted Fae on to a sheet from a Raspberry Road pad which was a freebie! They're all beautiful sheets of backing paper. I added the paper to yellow card and bright blue card to make a border to enhance the image. The yellow card is from Papermill and the blue card was a present.  I don't think this beautiful image needs much in the way of embellishments so the only thing I added was a computer generated sentiment reading Let's Celebrate. I used squeezed lemonade Distress Ink on the edge of the sentiment and added a small blue gem to the corner. Job done and I really love this card.

Along with having our usual winner and TOP 3 for the challenge, we will be having two additional prizes! We will be using Random.org to determine prizes for the blog hop. We will draw a name from comments on the Fitztown Challenge Blog for a TWO-DIGI prize. Plus, we have a freebie again and to win the freebie, all you have to do is dance on over and leave comments on the DT's and GD's personal blogs. MAWTT - Snow Cute

The hostess this week, over at Moving Along with the Times, is Anne and she chose the theme Snow Cute.

I'm not sure about making cute cards because I have very few people who appreciate one. However, when it's a Christmas card, I think they're happy with cute. I've had a book of cute images for ages. I think I got it as a freebie in a magazine. Fortunately I found a few cute snowy images so this was the one I chose. I've made a few cards recently with owls on and this is another. I'm terrified of birds and could never touch one but this one looks really cute.

This time I used a small square card blank by Craft UK. The silver card is all from Papermill and the pale blue backing paper is from a pack by Docraft.I cut the image using a Spellbinder classic circle and then matted it on to a Sue Wilson Italian die - it's the first time I've used it but I've had it for a while. I only stuck it down in the centre so the beautiful edges are all slightly raised for some dimension. I added some Floracraft Diamond Dust to the top of the post box, the tree and to the little owl's head. It was a very quick and simple Christmas card - I might be encouraged to make some more.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Challenges4Everybody - Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - Things With Wings
The Glory of Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
2 Cute Ink Challenge - Use glitter
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Melonheadz Friends Challenge - All about animals

OSAAT #212 use a Digi

This is my last card as a member of the Design Team of One Stitch at a Time. I've been here for three years and I thought it was time for a change otherwise I'll stagnate. I've enjoyed working with all the images and even more so with the DT - I'll miss you all.

The theme is Use a Digi and it was Jeanette's turn to choose an image for our mini team and she chose Hope Jacare's Swirly Owl Branch which is available to buy at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it into a rectangle and matted it on to dark brown card. The green backing paper is from a pad by First Edition called Hideaway. That was also matted on to the dark brown Papermill card. I used a Tattered Lace owl die to cut an owl in beige paper and then matted that on to a dark brown oval, cut with a Spellbinders die. I cut a narrow strip of the brown card to set across the bottom of the card and then decided to mirror the swirly branch in the image by using a Marianne swirl die. I used this on my last challenge card too - it gets used a lot! Well worth the money. The oval with the owl was raised on foam pads. The only embellishments then were three pieces of dark brown spotty Card Candi.

Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Digi Makeover Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Design - Anything Goes

Thank you for supporting me over the past three years - please continue to support me in Blogland. I'm still a member of the MAWTT DT and coming up shortly I have more exciting news.

MAWTT I'm Dreamin' of a White Christmas

This week come along and join us at Moving Along with the Times for our challenge of 'I'm Dreamin' of a White Christmas'. This was the theme set by our big boss Hazel (Didos). I made my card and then discovered that it really should have been white on white but my silver bits were allowed! I was just thinking of dreaming and white Christmas, doh!

My card blank is a small Craft UK card and the silver glitter paper is from a Papermania pad. I embossed a sheet of white paper with a Provocraft embossing folder and matted it on to the silver glitter. I used a very fine strip of the glitter paper across the card and topped it with a snowflake button from Create and Craft. The sentiment is from LOTV and it's embossed with silver powder before being centred on to a Spellbinders die cut in silver Mirri board.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - Glitter, Glitter everywhere
Hobbybook Designer Challenge - Add a sentiment
Little Red Wagon - Seeing Spots

Thanks for visiting.

OSAAT #211 Ribbon or Lace

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is Ribbon or Lace. I chose this pretty image of Pansies by CraftyGirl at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The dusky pink paper and the yellow pearlescent card is by Hobbycraft. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then after cutting I used Distress Ink on the edges. I used a strip of cream lace across the bottom of the card and then used a Marianne die to cut the swirls in green pearlescent card. The green swirls are to echo the swirls in CraftyGirl's design. I topped the swirls with an Art and Crafts Diecuts Ltd flower. I've had this book of diecuts for at least a couple of years and never used any of the images before. I cut three layers of the flower out and then layered them trying to keep them quite flat (for posting purposes) before adding some Glossy Accents and a yellow gem as the centre. It took me a long time to finish this card because I started it before I took time off to go to my brother's funeral and then couldn't get started again. It was one of those cards that just don't come easily. I eventually finished it and now I quite like it.

Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes on offer this week.
